The Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals - REACH

REACH is a regulation of the European Union, adopted to improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals, while enhancing the competitiveness of the EU chemicals industry. It also promotes alternative methods for the hazard assessment of substances in order to reduce the number of tests on animals.

Lindab’s REACH Compliance Statement is available in Document search.

Substance of Concern In Products - SCIP

SCIP is a database for information on substances of concern in articles as such or in complex objects, products. Starting January 5, 2021, companies placing articles on the EU market need to provide information to the database on those articles which contain substances of very high concern (SVHC) in a concentration above 0.1% w/w (weight by weight). The database is meant to provide waste operators with information about hazardous substances in the waste they process so that materials can potentially be recycled and reused in the production of new articles.

Lindab’s REACH Compliance Statement including information about substance of very high concern (SVHC) is available in Document search.

Building Product Declaration - BPD

A building product declaration (BPD) is a common Swedish form for reporting environmental information on construction products. There is no legislation forcing a use of BPD, the use is a voluntary decision for each company. The information contributes to more conscious product choices, which in turn leads to a better climate, both indoors and outdoors. A BPD is also a source of knowledge for future changes in the building. Lindab's products are registered in external assessment systems.

The work on creating BPD for our products, and registering them are ongoing. Contact your local sales representative if you miss a BPD for any product or need an XML-eBVD.

The BPD includes: 1. Company information, 2. Article information, 3. Chemical content, 4. Raw materials, 5. Environmental impact, 6. Distribution, 7. Construction phase, 8. Usage phase, 9. Demolition, 10. Waste management, 11. Indoor environment

Lindab’s building product declarations are available in Document search.

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive - WEEE

The amount of waste electrical and electronic equipment (widely known as WEEE or e-waste) generated every year in the EU is increasing rapidly. It is now one of the fastest growing waste streams. EU rules on WEEE aim to contribute to sustainable production and consumption. They address environmental and other issues caused by the growing number of discarded electronics in the EU.

Lindab’s Statement for the WEEE-directive is available in Document search.

Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment – RoHS

The RoHS Directive aims to prevent the risks posed to human health and the environment related to the management of electronic and electrical waste. All products with an electrical and electronic component, unless specifically excluded, have to comply with these restrictions.

Lindab’s Declaration of conformity for RoHS is available in Document search.
