The Old Garden, Kildare
Recently, Andrew Smart, our Sustainability Specialist, visited The Old Garden in Kildare — an inspiring new community garden ecosystem initiative.
As part of Lindab Ireland’s ongoing sustainability goals, we were delighted to donate a large number of our excess pallets to support their vision for a more sustainable and connected community.
A Shared Vision for a Greener Future
The Old Garden’s mission aligns closely with our own sustainability values, focusing on:
- Rebuilding and increasing biodiversity
- Creating garden plots and community spaces
- Supporting local produce, employment, and horticultural training
Through small but meaningful actions, projects like The Old Garden show how collaboration between local initiatives and industry can help drive positive environmental change.
Inspiring Action and Innovation
During his visit, Andrew was impressed by the innovative and hands-on approach being taken at The Old Garden — from the beautifully maintained gardens and the focus on self-sufficiency through solar panels, to the community-led projects that bring people together and promote sustainability in everyday life.
It’s a wonderful example of how shared responsibility and creativity can make a tangible difference to our local environment.
Working Together for a Sustainable Future
At Lindab, we believe sustainability is a collective journey. By supporting initiatives like The Old Garden, we continue to build meaningful connections between our business, our communities, and the environment — ensuring that our sustainability goals create a lasting positive impact.
